The new legislation won’t have much impact for New Zealander because most spam comes for overseas say most experts.
By the 5th September 2007 Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act will begin but we’ll soon see how well it stops spam in the real world. This act is to stop any text or email messages that are of the commercial nature.
New Zealand company Inbox, presented an idea where spam should be regulated by internet providers via authentication process. Managing directory Jerry Flay says “There won’t be a reduction in spam unless the email industry and internet service providers work together to implement authentication.”
